I'm working on a Joomla 3.6.2 site that previously had version 4.2 of the Unite Revolution slider installed. It was not working so I have installed version 4.7.3 b4. The slider is still not working although the slider administrator has started to function now.
Can the new version of Unite Revolution Slider 2 be installed without removing the old version? (The Extension Manager still shows the August 2012 date for the administrator component and the October 2012 date for the module.)
Are there any other upgrade problems to watch for?
Fortunately, there were copies of all the needed images in a local folder in the /images/ directory. To repair the image addresses, I went into the database through PHPMyAdmin and removed the http:// and domain of the content delivery network.

Hi,
yes, that is the right way to upgrade the Revolution slider.
Please provide URL to your site and super admin login details so we can take a look and see what could be the issue
Regards,
Igor
Your slider is trying to load images from a strange URL as seen on the following screenshot
Did you migrate it from some other website?
Regards,
Igor
Aha! That's it.
For some reason I wasn't seeing those errors in the Firebug tool in my Firefox browser. I have opened the Web Developer tool and they are shown there.
This site recently moved to a new hosting company. At some point we lost access to those old images. I'll work with the client and locate them.
Thanks for your help, Igor. I think you can close this ticket.

Hi,
you could also use the same feature directly in the Revolution slider under Import/Export but I am glad that you managed to solve the issue
