After updating Joomla yesterday, my old version of Unite revolution slider which came with the Joostrap Portfolio template would not allow me to add video layers. I read thatr this was a problem fixed in the newer version of the slider so I paid for the new version.

I installed the new version over the top of the old one, but things were not working very well so I thought I would export the slides and then delete the slider and install it as a clean install rather than an upgrade, Unfortunately the export would not work with an error telling me the file was unwritable despite it being writable.

I decided that the best thing to do would be to downgrade to the older version export my sliders, delete Unite Revolution Slider and then install the new version as a completely clean install and then import the sliders to the new version.

On the old version, I was able to export the slides perfectly, but now I have the new version installed it will not import the slides and gives an error:

    importing slider setings and data...
Error: Wrong export slider file format! This could be caused because the ZipArchive extension is not enabled.

Zip is fully enabled in my hosting - I am able to manually upload and unzip files fine and the php settings confirm this:

    http://proxima-software.com/phpinfo.php

The site is now in an obvious mess so I would appreciate a fix or suggestion to upload the slides please.

    Thanks

    Mike

    Hi,

    4.5.5

    Thank you

Any update please. The site looks awful without the slider and I can only wait so long before dropping back to the old version

It looks as if the exports from the old site are invalid. I have recreated the old site at http://proxima-software.co.uk/

If I try to open the exported zip files - I receive an error that the files are invalid

I have loaded one of the exported files to proxima-software.co.uk/homepage.zip

    Cheers,

    Mike

    Hi,

I am afraid that we don't support old versions of Revolution slider. Your only solution to this is to recreate the sliders on the new website from the beginning

That is very poor. I might as well get a refund for the new version and just continue to run the old version then - far easier than recreating everything.

    Hi,

we can provide a refund if you want, but you have to know that old version of Revolution slider won't work correctly with the latest version of Joomla. Between your version and the latest version there were also lots of bug fixes and improvements
