I am using the Revolution Slider as part of the "Progressive" template (htmgarcia) and I can not get the selected fonts to render in the browser.
A font selected for a caption shows up correctly in the preview of the slide, but when I save it and look at it in the browser, it always shows up as "Open sans" in Firefox on my laptop, and as "Times..." on my wife's Firefox browser.
This happens for any of the available fonts selected from the drop down when editing the caption, so no matter if I set it to Helvetica, or Arial etc., while the preview shows the selected font correctly, the browser ignores that and displays the caption font incorrectly (always "Open Sans" for me)
I also tried adding a new google font as per instructions in the documentation, but the results are the same as with any of the other fonts used from the caption edit dropdown list.
I contacted the template dev and he told me that the slider does not rely on the template fonts (unless I want to use the default template font) and operates independently in that respect.
Ok, a few more details to what I did (with screenshots)
1. In the slider, I selected the caption, then opened the Simple Editor for the "large_bold_grey" preset and from the drop down, I selected " Arial, Helvetica, sans serif".
2. In the Advanced Editor Tab below, I verified the font selection.
3. I also verified the font in the Global Styles Editor under ".tp-caption. large_bold_grey
4. The font shows as selected in the Slider preview, but always appears as "OpenSans" when the page is opened in Firefox. In the screenshot you can see the results when using "Inspect Element" The caption is in Slider 1 and is the top caption/ text layer. I'm at a basic knowledge level, but I can see that .tp-caption. large_bold_grey in "settings.css" shows "Open Sans" as the family (and that's the font Firefox displays). This overrides the font family "Arial,...."I selected in the editor which is reflected in .tp-caption. large_bold_grey in "dynamic-captions.css.
Not smart enough to figure out what's happening here.
If you would have taken the time to actually fully read my first post above, you would have realized that I contacted the template developer first, for that very reason. He replied that the fonts in the slider work independently from the font settings in the template and that I should contact you, the slider people, with my problem, which I did. Thankfully, the template dev is a very nice dude and offered further help, in case I get the above reply from you, which I expected to get, of course, but hey, you never know, maybe I can get a few wise words from some smart people, so I had to ask anyway. I will look for answers elsewhere.
