I don't know what version I have but it looks different from the tutorials on this site. It came w/ my Joomfx template. Any thoughts? How can I check my version? Do I have some free dummed-down version? The video options are available to me.

please make sure you have the latest (4.5.95 b4), if not, please download it from unitecms.net website, if do, please give your joomla admin url and admin access, I'll take a look.
I have version 2.2.8. Do I need to buy the upgrade? Like I said it came w/ my Joomfx template so I'm not sure if I have the free version. I do not see a download or update from w/in Joomla. If I do upgrade, will all my slides still work or will I need to recreate them? Also, will making this response private encrypt the message in case passwords are sent? Thanks.
Hi, you can send passwords via private messages, no problem with that.
The new version of the slider is not compatible with the old one. You'll need to recreate the slides. You can buy the slider from unitecms.net website.

Hi, you can keep the old, the new will create new folder with new db tables, the old one will remain.
