I don't need help, but I cannot find the correct location to report a bug. Unite Slider ver. 5.0.16.
Unite Slider saves the fully qualified url to access slide images. This is unwanted, as it breaks sites which are moved to another location, for example another server, another website, another url, etc.
Instead, they should be saved with the relative path to the joomla root.
Even worse, exporting the slider in the old environment and importing back into the new environment does not work either, as the image paths are not maintained.
Work around: Manually modify the urls in all entries in table #__revslider_slides
So you can export the sliders and import them back with urls adjusted, good, thanks for pointing that out.
But you still should change the absolute urls to relative urls. Moving a site from a development environment to productive environment should not break the site. It's not reasonable that I need to first export all sliders when in development, move the site, delete all sliders, and then import those sliders again.
Or, you move your site from http to https. You would then need to export all sliders and import them again? I guess most people would not even have the idea that that's what is needed to make the sliders work again. Why can't you just use relative urls like (almost) everyone else?
thank you, you are correct, I did not understand the meaning of that feature. However, I believe my comments are still valid. If you would use relative urls the "Replace image URL" feature would not even be necessary. And as I said, most people would not even have the idea that that's what is needed to make the sliders work again.
Anyway, how I'm dealing with this is after I have finished working on a slider I go into the database and manually change the absolute urls to relative urls in the parameters, so I don't need to worry (and remember) about this anymore.
It might not be a bug, after all, but certainly not user friendly.

Hi,
that is the reason why we have "Replace image URL" feature
Edit your slider and under the "Import / Export" section use "Replace Image Url's" to change image URLs

Igor

Hi,
I guess you didn't understand the meaning of that feature
If you have your website on dev.domain.com for example and you migrate your website to the domain.com, all you have to do is the following:
1. migrate website without exporting sliders
2. use "Replace image URL" feature. In the "Replace from" put "http://dev.domain.com" and in the replace to put "http://domain.com"
3. your sliders will work correctly on the new domain

Igor

Hi,
thank you for your opinion. Unfortunately, this has been implemented long time ago and our developers don't plan to change this
