Added another screenshot (02) of the "Replace Image Url's:" feature and the parameters I'm using.

Hi, please try to replace without the http:// only the url starting from localhost and ending without "/" at the end.

  • rob replied

Tried without the "http://" and any appended "/", but still not work. See attached screen-shot 03.

Also tried simple replace of "localhost" to "12345" and that didn't replace anything either.

I've provided a screen-shot (04) of one of the slide config forms to confirm that I'm using a background image with URL of

    http://home.btconnect.com/bentleyridingschool/joom...

I've even tried deleting the thumb image assuming that it should then be created from the background image if not provided. However, the thumb for that background image slide is blank when I look at the front end of my site.

    Anything else to try?

    Regards, Rob

Hi, please give me backend access to your website, I'll take a look.

If I have a bug somewhere I'll fix it.

    Hi Max,

Sorry to be a pain but still having problems.

On my Dev (localhost) machine, your updates do allow me to change the URLs of the thumbs, which is great! ...but still getting some weird behaviour with the definition of the thumbs in the first place.

Problem 1: The thumb feature says that "Slide Thumbnail. If not set - it will be taken from the slide image." but if the thumb is not defined when I'm defining the background image as an external URL, then the thumb URL still remains blank. See attached 05 screenshot. Unfortunately, this is my prefered way of using this feature as I don't have to define thumb images at all; even if the thumb images are set as localhost, at least I could rename them, but in this case, with no URL at all, I don't think I can do this last bit.

Problem 2: Even if I define the thumb as the same external URL as the background image, I get a corrupted value for the thumb URL. See attached screen-shot 06. I can (and have) remove the first part of the URL including "http://localhost/joomla25/" using the over-write tool to leave me with a thumb URL that refers to the same background image external URL. See attached screenshot 07. i.e. Exactly what I want. ...but not sure if this is the way you intended this feature to work.

I can see that you've loaded your fix onto my pseudo live site at bentleyridingschool.co.uk. Feel free to continue using this site if you need to. In the mean time, I'll use my work-around in the above problem 2 as I really need to get these changes implemented on my bentleyridingschool.com hosting site.

Let me know if you think there's a way to fix this.

    Regards, Rob

PS Thanks for the warning about the bentleyridingcentre references. Got a little trigger happy with cut-and-paste somewhere along the line.

HI, from your text I understand that you just need to set up thumbnail url's.

Can you just select new thumbnail url's from the images that you have in the website?

    This will sort the issue.

I don't see what more fix I can make there.

btw, in next 2 weeks I think I'll work on implienting relative url's, so this problem will not be anymore.

You've given me a work around so I have a way forward.

Let me know when or if you iplement this enhancement to relative URLs

    Regards,

    Rob
