My client wants to display content for a mobile device using a paragraph accordion. What this means is that on initial display, the first 4 to 8 lines (example - the number of lines varies) with a "read more" or a fade at the end of the displayed lines. When the "read more" of the faded characters are clicked the entire paragraph(s) is displayed below. This is very common on news sites and allows the viewer to display just the first part of each topic paragraph. Also see vickyssilverrepair.com - Restore damaged combs section.
I searched the accordion add-ons, but none that i found allow more than 1 line of visual display. This would require single accordion, multiple lines showing, additional multiple lines on click and a way to collapse the additional lines display.
The client is pretty insistent on this ... is there an add-on that will accomplish this or would you suggest another way to accomplish this. Thanks ... D E Havill
Sorry for the poor explanation ... The technique of "show more" ? "show less" has become very important in our web design for mobile devices. By not displaying the complete article content on a mobile device, the viewer does not have to scroll a lot of information to get to the items of interest. This design feature has increased our conversion rate on some sites over 70%. However, we have always had to program in CSS/HTML to get this effect. Our client wants the effect with a WordPress site, if possible. In the past, we have had very poor success in incorporation CSS/HTML with the BLOX page Builder, so we are looking for an alternative ... the best being a BLOX add-on. I have included an example as an attachment.
