the gallery is js driven so I guess it can't run on a page that don't support js.
AMP Carousel uses its own external JS:

I'm unaware of ANY component / plugin for Joomla or Wordpress that has an AMP carousel compatible fall back.
you guys could sell a hell of a lot of them to WP and Joomla people if Unite Slider was encoded to have compatibility.
