I renewed my subscription to get the newest version of the component and I am really disappointed with the changes.  Why would you make such a change?

The timeline is basically inaccessible for anything more than one or two layers being at the very bottom of the screen and no resizable.

Old sliders that worked fine no longer work.  I imported a bunch from an older version and they all came up blank.  I found that they no longer work because the background image has a space in the file name.  So I have to go find all the background images and re-name them.  Why would you make such a change?

All of the features seem to be more difficult to get to in that shrunken right sidebar.  I understand that maybe you are trying to make the canvas bigger, but it doesn't really ad much value in my opinion.

It doesn't seem that you have improved on anything that I can see, just change for change's sake.  Is there some kind of explanation about why so many seemingly unneeded changes, especially where they don't seem to actually add value?

    Hi,

I am sorry that you don't find the changes valuable to you but I have to say that majority of the members actually like them. There is no way to please everybody I guess and I am sorry for that

Regarding the internal working, we didn't change anything so it is actually strange that your sliders are not working as expected. Can you please share with me one of them so i can take a look at it.

There are some issues when you upgrade from 4.x version to 5.x but it is enough to open slider configuration and save it without any changes.

    Regards,
    Igor

    Igor,

I can create a brand new slide, select an image from the /images folder as usual and the background will be blank.  Until I go back and rename the file (which I cannot do through either the Slider browser or the media manager, so I have to use FTP), it will be blank.  As soon as I take the spaces out the name, it works.  This is the same for many slides.  This isn't just about importing old sliders, this is on a new one with a new slide but using images from the old site folder.

I am trying to transition a website to a new Joomla version (from 2.5) and the slider is one piece of that.  We were hoping not to have to have a big learning curve for the client, but this is SO much different from the version they were using, I might as well use a different slider entirely.  Whether the files were changing names or not.  That's just one more reason pushing me.

The timeline is actually something that was quite nice compared to the old version this client was on, but I really see this new sliver at the bottom of the screen a step WAY backwards.  I don't know how you could easily adjust a 10 layer slide when you can only see about 2 or 3 lines at a time.  very confusing for the end user.

Am I missing something here or it that timeline editor really supposed to be THAT slim?
