I have set up an image gallery, columns. All but one of my images is portrait oriented, but they all show up landscape. How do I keep the orientation of the images I upload the same as they are uploaded: portrait or landscape?
it seems to me like you rotated the images on your computer using right click and then "Rotate image" feature in the Windows Explorer. That feature is not rotating image for real. It just adds an image info to the hidden file in the Windows which makes that OS to show images as rotated. It doesn't actually change the image in any way. You have to rotate images using some image editing software in order to rotate them for real

Ahh...
Is there an optimal image size for portrait and landscape in our "responsive web" world?
Ed
Hi,
no, there isn't optimal size but you should think about having images as small as possible but keep clarity of the images
