When I use style "large_bold_white" it works fine, when I use style "modern_big_redbg" it doesn't work. Hope there is a solution.

you have to check if maybe your Joomla template is overriding CSS style. Use for example Chrome developer tools to check that

do you have some kind of caching enabled on the site? That could explain why you don't see the changes right away on the slider
